WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
Personally identifiable information is information that identifies you, or data that can be combined with other information to identify or contact you. This includes (but is not limited to) your name, business or personal physical address, email address, and telephone number.
Zero Waste Washington collects personally identifiable information when you provide it to us, such as when you sign up for our e-newsletter, make a donation, register for an event, request information, or otherwise communicate with us. Some of these services require your contact details as a condition of use and when you interact with us or our website in this way, you are no longer anonymous.
Email Addresses
Visitors to www.zerowastewashington.org who sign up to receive electronic communications voluntarily provide us with contact information (such as name and email address). We use this information for specific, limited purposes.
IP Addresses
We also collect non-personal data about each user’s IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website, but such IP addresses are not associated with individual users.
Donation Information
When you make an online donation on www.zerowastewashington.org, we collect personal data such as your name, billing address, email address, and the amount of donation. We also collect (but do not retain) credit card numbers which are processed by a third-party payment vendor subject to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
NON-PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
Zero Waste Washington collects certain information, which cannot be used to personally identify any user (“non-personal data”). Non-personal data ordinarily include aggregate, summary, or other anonymous data, and may include, by way of example, statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic like popularity of particular pages within our website or types of internet browsers used by the site’s visitors.
Google Analytics
Zero Waste Washington uses Google Analytics to identify data points such as top content and traffic sources. Google Analytics tracks the following information through your visits to our website. The following data are anonymous and/or aggregated:

COMMENTSWhen visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. If you provide your name and other personal information, we use this information to provide services such as communicating with our users, recruiting volunteers for community events, answering your requests, and processing donations. We also use both personal data and non-personal data when evaluating ways to improve our website and services. You may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease all communications from us.
We will not share your personal information with or sell it to third-party marketers.
