Give at Work

Each fall, many generous individuals support Zero Waste Washington through their employer’s workplace giving programs.  Workplace giving programs encourage and enable employees to donate to charitable organizations through payroll deduction pledges.  Payroll pledges are efficient, reliable and cost-effective. Donations through payroll pledges are a vital part of Zero Waste Washington’s operating budget.  They let us spend less time fundraising and more time working to enhance waste prevention, recycling, and producer responsibility.

How to Give at Your Workplace:

While we are excited by our new name Zero Waste Washington, you will likely find us listed in 2010 campaign catalogues as Washington Citizens for Resource Conservation.

  • Corporate workplaces:  If you work for one of many corporations that include EarthShare Washington in your workplace giving campaign, find EarthShare Washington on your payroll pledge form and write in Zero Waste Washington as a specific designation.
  • Government workplaces: If you work for one of the many government agencies in our area such as the State of Washington, state universities, the federal government, City of Seattle, King County, and many other counties and cities, you can find Zero Waste Washington (or Washington Citizens for Resource Conservation) listed in the campaign catalog.  Once you have found us, write our code number on your payroll deduction pledge form.  Here are our code numbers for some key government workplace campaigns:
    • State of Washington CFD Code: 0315047
    • Combined Federal Campaign Code: 60557
    • King County Employee Giving Program Code: 2514
    • Snohomish County Employee Giving Program Code: 3002
  • United Way Campaigns: If EarthShare Washington or Zero Waste Washington (or our old name, Washington Citizens for Resource Conservation) is not listed by your employer in your workplace giving campaign, you can designate Zero Waste Washington in the "Specific Organization" or "donor option" section of your United Way pledge form. Ask your campaign coordinator how to do this if it is not clear.
